Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves

If there’s one big name that could be traded that, at least in my opinion, would come as a complete shock, it would be Karl-Anthony Towns. Even though the fit between Towns and Rudy Gobert hasn’t been ideal, I wouldn’t guess that the team is ready to pull the trigger on the experiment. Nevertheless, there are tea leaves that suggest that’s exactly what the Wolves may be preparing to do.

A recent report suggested that the Wolves could trade Towns this offseason. The fact that hasn’t been completely shot down by now tells me that this is the type of rumor that, at the very least, has some legs. Maybe this is the one move that completely steals the shine of the likes of Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, and Brandon Miller on draft night.

If this is a deal that gets done, it has to be for a huge haul. The last thing that the Wolves need to do is give up Towns for pennies on the dollar. And I don’t imagine that they would. They gain absolutely nothing in doing that.

One team I would keep an eye on when it comes to potentially making a move for KAT is the New York Knicks. Just throwing it out there.
