Worst moves LA Clippers made this offseason

Even though the Clippers have been relatively quiet this offseason, you can argue that there was one move that while it made sense to a certain extent, it could end up backfiring on the team down the line. I believe that while re-signing Russell Westbrook made some sense, it will make even less sense if LA does end up landing James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers at some point before the start of the season.

At this point, there’s a growing expectation that the Clippers are going to land Russ eventually. There’s not much of a market for Westbrook right now and if Harden holds true to his threat to hold out of training camp and that his relationship with the Sixers is indeed unsalvagable, Harden to the Clippers seems like somewhat of a foregone conclusion.

The addition of Harden would make Russ pretty expendable for the Clippers. I suppose this move does give the Clippers a bit of insurance in the event that the Harden deal doesn’t come to fruition and this was a move they almost had to make after he finished the season on a good note, but I have my concerns about how this will all work for LA.
