Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

For many, the Boston Celtics are going to head into the season as the overwhelming favorite to win the 2024 NBA Championship. They have one of the best rosters in the league and if they don’t accomplish big things this season, it’s going to fall on Jayson Tatum. He’s the best player on the team and is considered one of the best in the league. However, at some point, the championship has to come. The Celtics have been close many times over the past few seasons but, for one reason or another, haven’t been able to break through.

At only 25 years old, Tatum probably isn’t going to feel the heat just yet even if he doesn’t deliver Boston a championship. However, he is entering this season with the best supporting cast he’s ever been around and there are virtually no weaknesses across the board.

You can make the case that the Celtics are as deep as they were last season but when you have a top four of Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis, that’s something you’re willing to worry about later.

It’s not something that is widely believed, but Tatum should absolutely find himself under the microscope heading into the start of the season.
