Philadelphia 76ers
Expendable difference-maker: Mo Bamba
After the offseason they had, I don't think there are many that expected the Philadelphia 76ers to be in the race for the top spot in the Eastern Conference this year. Through the first quarter of the season, that's exactly what the Sixers appear to be. But with how good Joel Embiid has been while using Paul Reed as his backup, there's a case to be made that the team doesn't have much use for a player like Mo Bamba.
Bamba was a curious signing during the offseason and was essentially brought in to be a third-stringer. I understand the Sixers wanting to solidify their depth behind Embiid, but Bamba has played very little for the team this season. So much so that he probably deserves a fresh start somewhere else heading into the trade deadline.
Bamba has proven throughout his young career that he can be an effective player in the right situation. Right now, the Sixers are not that for him.
