The Decision 3.0: What each contender should be rooting for if they want LeBron

SIXERS: The Team To Watch
First things first, you want to clean up down the stretch, since nine of your remaining 14 games are at home. If you can host and win a playoff series it will be something competitors like The Lakers won’t be able to brag about over steak sandwiches during a recruitment dinner.
You want the Cavs to get eliminated and miss the finals but you don’t necessarily want to do it yourself, in case LeBron hates the idea of joining someone who just beat him. So root for Boston or Toronto to take care of that.
Ideally, you stay healthy. Maybe Markelle Fultz plays and looks promising. Maybe Joel Embiid does not win the First Team All NBA Center. Winning that honor would trigger a massive bonus in his contract and cost precious cap-space. Besides, Anthony Davis deserves it.
Join Cavs and Rockets fans and root for Paul George and the Thunder this playoffs. You really want PG to stay put. So root for he and Russ to have an epic love affair. Not only do they knock off the Warriors, they also get really into the city. Maybe a rollercoaster ride at Frontier City or a guided tour at the American Banjo Museum. That might be a bit too much for Hollywood to compete with.
Oh, and then root for the true Lavar to return! Maybe he threatens to send Lonzo to Lithuania unless they sign his other sons, Melo and Gelo.
Finally, root for a prospect or two in this March Madness to take a major leap so that you really like your choices in the first 12 picks of finding help. Maybe Kevin Knox or Zhaire Smith takes the next step. That might offer promising bench depth, or net you some vital trade-capital in case “GM LeBron” comes with a list of Kingly demands.
