With the second pick, the Memphis Grizzlies will take Ja Morant. This really shouldn’t come as a surprise either. Since the Grizzlies jumped to the second pick at the NBA Draft Lottery, it’s been a foregone conclusion that the Grizzlies will take Morant.
Morant was arguably the second most electric prospect in the college basketball last season, with Zion clearly taking the top spot. Morant has the ability to change a franchise, and the Grizzlies will be hoping that he can jumpstart the team’s rebuild.
The big question here, of course, is whether the Grizzlies try and trade Mike Conley on Draft night. They reportedly nearly traded him at the NBA Trade Deadline this past season, so it isn’t out of the realm of possibility for him to be moved this week.
