8. Charlotte Hornets – Obi Toppin, F, Dayton

It’s difficult to gauge what the Charlotte Hornets are going to do at the draft, considering that there are many holes on this roster. However, taking the best player available would be the best move for the Hornets. Obi Toppin at No. 8 would be an absolute steal for the Hornets. Toppin might not have as high of a ceiling as a few other players in the top 10, but he’s ready to contribute from day 1 and would certainly make this team better.

Toppin averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists on 63 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’d be a great addition for the Hornets and would help solidify this team’s frontcourt that is in desperate need of an anchor.

One of the biggest knocks on Toppin is his age. He’s already 22 years old, but that could actually help him as he makes the jump to the next level. His game could be considered a bit more mature and polished.

Toppin at No. 8 is a great value.
