NBA Mock Draft 8.0: LaMelo Ball falls to Hornets; Bulls make a splash at No. 4
12. Sacramento Kings – Saddiq Bey, F, Villanova
With the unknown that surrounds the Sacramento Kings’ future, it will be imperative that they gain some sort of insurance in the draft. Adding a prospect of value at 12 will be important to this team’s immediate future, especially as they continue to try to get over the hump in the Western Conference. One player that makes a ton of sense at this point in the draft is Saddiq Bey.
Bey is a 6-foot-8 wing with the potential to be an ideal 3-and-D wing for a very long time in the NBA, even if you don’t buy his potential as a star. During his two seasons at Villanova, Bey quickly emerged as one of the most important players on the team – certainly one of the better shooters for Jay Wright.
During his sophomore season, Bey averaged 16 points and five rebounds on 48 percent shooting from the field and 45 percent shooting from 3-point range. Bey is a player that could enter the rotation almost. immediately and potentially take on a Harrison Barnes type role for the team in the future.
