Philadelphia 76ers trade target No. 2: Buddy Hield

Buddy Hield makes sense considering it’s been widely reported that the Sixers would be interested in adding shooting in some shape or form this offseason. While Hield has been somewhat disappointing over the last couple of seasons, I don’t think anyone would argue with his shooting prowess.

Hield is coming off a “down” season in which he averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game on 43 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from 3-point range. Hield would feast playing off both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and would be a fixture as a spot-up shooter in the starting lineup.

I’m not sure if adding a player like Hield answers all the questions for the Sixers heading into the 2020-21 season, but he’d certainly be a good addition. If the Sixers could make this trade work (and it would likely cost them Al Horford and a pick or two), they should certainly explore it.

That said, I’m not sure targeting Hield should be this team’s first option during the offseason. There are other stops before getting to this point. That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a good addition, however.
