Trade target: Jrue Holiday

With Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving returning from injury in 2020-21, it would make plenty of sense should the Brooklyn Nets go all-in on this roster and use its young pieces and assets in an attempt to add a third star. There might not be a better third option on the open market than Jrue Holiday, who is currently with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Holiday is one of the most underrated two-way guards in the NBA and is coming off a season in which he averaged 19 points, seven assists, and five rebounds per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 35 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Perhaps the best attribute about Holiday is the fact that he doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be effective. He could play off Kyrie at shooting guard, take the top defensive backcourt assignment, and feed off all the attention of Kevin Durant in the offensive flow.

I’m not sure if the Nets are willing to pay the price that it would cost for Jrue Holiday, but it’s certainly a conversation they should exhaust.
