Miami Heat

Through the first quarter of the 2020-21 NBA season, the Miami Heat simply hasn’t been the team that many expected to see heading into this year. In part, that is due to a few key players being out due to health and safety protocols, but that still doesn’t give an excuse for this team’s lack of spirit and quality play thus far.

What has to be most concerning is the fact that the team is not playing as a unit and has the look of a squad that simply doesn’t know what its identity is. Even in the games that Jimmy Butler played in, this team didn’t look all that impressive.

With the exception of a big Christmas Day win over the New Orleans Pelicans, this team has struggled mightily to beat the teams they’re supposed to. I’m not sure if there’s a trade out there that this team can make, or will make, that will help fix their issues but there needs to be some shake-up.

The Heat has gotten off to such a bad start that there is a real chance that this team misses the playoffs entirely in the Eastern Conference. Perhaps it may not be time to panic yet, but this is certainly not the start that they could’ve hoped for.
