New Orleans Pelicans

Notable moves: Drafted Dyson Daniels, extended Zion Williamson

The New Orleans Pelicans are another team that closed the year on a high note. They didn’t necessarily need to do much this offseason, especially after they acquired CJ McCollum at last year’s NBA Trade Deadline. That said, it was great to see the team sign Zion Williamson to a long-term extension.

If the Pelicans can remain healthy this next season, it’ll be interesting to see what type of ceiling they can have. Zion missed all of last season and should be in for a huge season. And this will be the best version of a supporting cast around Zion that he’s had thus far.

I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that the Pelicans emerge as a huge dark horse in the Western Conference next season. They may not be a championship threat just yet, but this is a team that has plenty of talent on its roster.
