NBA Draft Rumor: Dallas Mavericks to trade No. 10 pick

If the Dallas Mavericks are able to successfully navigate this offseason, they should be given all the credit in the world. But it won’t be easy. Kyrie Irving noise aside, the Mavs have a big decision to make with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. They tanked the last few games of the season to get to this spot, now it’s time for them to make the right decision with this pick.

But the recent rumors suggest that there’s a better chance the Mavs end up trading this pick rather than making a selection. That could prove to be difficult for a team that is looking for a real difference-maker this offseason. While the No. 10 pick in this draft does hold value, it’s unlikely that the Mavs are going to get a franchise-altering piece in any trade with this asset.

That could force Dallas to simply use the pick and bet on a young player (with a higher upside) developing quickly. But with Luka Doncic on the roster and ready to win an NBA Title, that could prove to be a big risk for the Mavs.

When push comes to shove, I still believe the Mavs end up trading this pick.
