Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder haven’t been talked about much as a potential landing spot for Tyler Herro but I’d argue that they’re a team that perhaps makes the second-most sense next to the Brooklyn Nets. For one, they own a future first-round pick from Miami, and removing protections from it would help the Heat offer more assets to the Portland Trail Blazers in a potential package. But Herro also makes sense from a basketball perspective for OKC.

The Thunder have one of the most talented young cores in the league, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. That said, there’s no question that the team would greatly benefit from another elite scoring threat next to SGA. For everything that Herro isn’t on the defensive end, he is on the offensive end.

Herro would help legitimize the Thunder on the offensive floor heading into the new season and would take a ton of pressure off of OKC’s young, developing players. Even though he’s just 23 years old, he’d also be viewed as a veteran calming force for the Thunder. That’s something OKC could also greatly benefit from considering they’re looking to make the pivot toward the playoffs this season.
